The Show
A Flock Of Seagulls playing one of their many live dates in the USA at this time, around the time I Ran became a big hit over there.
This is an FM stereo radio broadcast from KBCO FM of Boulder, Colorado, put out there by the person taping it back in the day. The original recording was quite muffled, despite being recorded on chrome tape at the time (Maxell UD XL-II, if you're interested) but apart from a dropout or 2 and a few pops in good condition.
What Was Done
I fixed the pops and dropouts, then got to work on clearing up the sound so everything was audible and not muffled. Once that was done, it was just a case of mastering to make it sound more powerful, then tweaking the EQ a bit here and there to clear up a couple of bits that were still not quite right (the snare intro to Messages, was one).
Anyway, it's been a while since I featured A Flock Of Seagulls and in this show, they really were on fire I think. The recording has cleaned up really really well; I hope you can enjoy it.
