A quick request. If you plan on downloading this and putting it on your YouTube channel or your own bootleg page - I don't mind. But a credit to this website where you found it and a link back to this page would be really appreciated. It helps me gauge which artists are popular - ie more chance of other restorations coming. The Show
There has been debate online about when this show is from. Originally recorded with a view to releasing a live album, it was finally released as a bootleg many years later without The Leaves That Are Green included as being from 1966. Sometime later, the source for THIS version was released with a slightly different venue (referring to the same place) and marked as March 1967. Most sources seem to now confirm the gig as being from 1967. What is definitely agreed on is that the gig took place at the Cousens Gymnasium, part of Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts!
What Was Done
Listening to the original, it's understandable why the live album was never released - recording levels were overloaded at times, generally with Paul's guitar sounding "boxy" and being far too loud when he was playing more loudly, and there were many (many!) bumps on the microphones throughout. Most of that I've been able to remove, along with much tape hiss. Then I got to work on reducing the low end which was muddy, so the guitar comes through better and mastered to separate out the sound a bit, so the guitar and vocals are clearer.
Anyway, it was a lot of work but I love Simon and Garfunkel and thought I could do something to make this special show more listenable.
