A quick request. If you plan on downloading this and putting it on your YouTube channel or your own bootleg page - I don't mind. But a credit to this website where you found it and a link back to this page would be really appreciated. It helps me gauge which artists are popular - ie more chance of other restorations coming. The Show
From the UK leg of David Sylvian's first solo tour - the In Praise Of Shamans" tour. A show by him has been on my requested list for a long time - I could only find this one of a complete show, and while it was in good condition generally, it was very very bass heavy, to the point of distorting in places. I have worked on this on and off for the last couple of years, coming back to it every few months. However, it's the full show, in stereo, so well worth finishing off.
What Was Done
All the clipped areas I did my best to reduce - you may still hear a few. I fixed some crackling that was audible. A few odd cuts and gaps tidied up as best I could. I pulled out midrange frequencies which was making the bass very "woofy" and that has allowed the rest of the instruments to come through better. The drums now go "thud" rather than "boink" (!). There's more "audio space" generally, and a little more top end, and less low down. Sylvian himself was pretty quiet in the mix, so I've brought his vocals up a bit so he can be heard. Mastering was then done for clarity and to bring out the live feel a little more.
Anyway, it was a lot of work but live recordings of Mr Sylvian are not common, so this was well worth spending some time on. I hope you enjoy it!
