The Show
Iggy Pop, during his Blah Blah Blah tour, which marked his most commercially successful period. This is recording from a Dutch FM radio broadcast, as such it probably isn't the complete set, however you do get just over an hour's worth.
What Was Done
Someone else had worked on it before me I think in some way - it was VERY LOUD ALL THE WAY THROUGH. And not particularly clear. So I worked on the music balance to make it less tiring to listen to, clearer, tighter, all the usual things. There was some damage that needed fixing - a few clicks and dropouts, plus 1 section where the right channel had some very bad FM interference on it which I was mostly able to disguise. Oddly however, while the recording starts in stereo, the last 3 songs are in mono. Lust For Life fades out with a Dutch radio announcer talking a lot and it comes back in on the next track in mono. Weird. I faded out the Dutch talking and faded back in, then did my best to make the change far less jarring by working on those 3 mono songs separately and then bringing everything back together.
A fair bit of work but I'm very happy to have a seminal artist like Iggy Pop on the site finally and it's his usual enthusiastic and energetic performance. I hope you enjoy it.
